Sam Amick of Sports Illustrated has reported that Josh Smith is saying that he no longer wants to be traded away from the Atlanta Hawks. After the past two seasons, Josh Smith has expressed the fact that he was not happy with the Hawks management and felt like he was being blamed for many of Atlanta's shortcomings. There was no mention of moving Josh Smith when Danny Ferry took over as the Hawks GM, Ferry said that he had a vision for the team and that he would talk one on one with Josh. Well, apparently whatever he said in that talk worked because in Amick's article he asked Josh if he still wanted to be traded and he quoted Smith with a prompt " No." In fact J-Smoove told Amick that he thought Ferry was a great GM with a good plan. When asked about the way the team is shaping up Smith said,
"I'm just excited. We have a lot of elite shooters and I can see us being a run and gun shooting team."
In terms of the Atlanta Hawks getting his good friend Dwight Howard to come back home, Smith basically said, "You never know."
It is also being reported that Anthony Randolph has signed with the Denver Nuggets. The forward was once being considered as a possibility to join the Atlanta Hawks instead he is slated to go to the Nuggets and replace Chris "Birdman" Andersen, who was amnestied by the team. Atlanta has since been said by sources to be interested in unrestricted free agent forward Carlos Delfino, who spent the last few seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks.
