Former Georgia Tech star and Atlanta native Isma'il Muhammad was added to the Atlanta Hawks' training camp roster. The 6'6" wingman has played professional basketball all around the globe. His stops include Iceland, France, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Columbia and New Zealand. Muhammad is known for his energy on defense and his ability to attack the basket on offense. In 2006, he was selected by the Albuquerque Thunderbirds in the eighth round of the NBDL Draft.
At Georgia Tech, Isma'il Muhammad averaged just under eight points for his four year career (2001-2005). He mostly came off of the bench for the Yellow Jackets, but started his senior year until he injured his knee during post season play. While at Tech, Muhammad played with Atlanta Hawks newly acquired shooting guard Anthony Morrow.
Growing up in Atlanta, GA, Muhammad attended W.D. Mohammed High School.
At the Atlanta Hawks media day Muhammad was confident about bringing in his skill set and making the final roster, " I feel I bring something to the table defensively and athletically and with energy. So I'm going after one of those spots."
