As far as exhibition games go, the Atlanta Hawks lost a heartbreaker to the San Antonio Spurs. Nando De Colo hit a last second shot, lifting the Spurs to a 101-99 victory. Rookie Mike Scott and Damion Jones led the Hawks with both scoring 11 points.
Tony Parker, Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili did not play based on Coach Greg Popovich's decision to give them some rest. One time Atlanta Hawk and Atlanta native, Josh Powell led the Spurs in scoring with 14 points. De Colo looked very good leading San Antonio with 11 points and nine assists, also scoring 11 points was big man Eddie Curry. Gary Neal added 12 points with Stephen Jackson and Derek Brown both contributing ten points.
Mike Scott hit a three pointer for the Atlanta Hawks late in the game, tying the score at 99 a piece. Along with Scott and Jones' 11 points, Lou Williams, Keith Benson and Jeff Teague all added ten points. First round draft pick, John Jenkins scored nine points while shooting 3 for 5 behind the three point line and Kyle Korver also added nine points.
