The Indiana Pacers were led by David West and George Hill who both scored 20 points. Paul George added 13 points, seven rebounds and four steals.
Atlanta outscored the Pacers in the fourth quarter 24-9, closing the game on a 20-3 run.
Al Horford led the team with 16 points, nine rebounds and three blocks. Jeff Teague scored 15 points to go with six assists, Kyle Korver scored 13 points and Josh Smith had an impressive stat line with 11 points, five boards and seven assists (not bad with a bum ankle).
The Hawks controlled the paint against the Pacers, they grabbed ten more boards (Zaza had 14 rebounds, Al had nine) and outscored Indiana in the paint 48-36 despite being the smaller team.
Coach Larry Drew attributed the team's zone defense to a key in the Hawks being able to contain David West, who was hot early. He also spoke on the team manning up and not depending on the officials to help them get back into the game.
The Miami Heat come to town to take on the Atlanta Hawks next and from the way the Hawks are playing it should be a great game.
