The Atlanta Hawks sent down rookies, John Jenkins and Mike Scott, to the NBA Development League. In their first game with the Bakersfield Jam, they helped defeat the Santa Cruz Warriors to the tune of 102-95.

John Jenkins scored 22 points going 8 for 13 from the field, he also had three rebounds, three assists and two steals in 29 minutes. Mike Scott went 3-8 and scored seven points in his 24 minutes of action, exciting the crowd with two thunderous dunks. Scott also grabbed a couple of boards to go with a couple of steals in his time on the floor. Also of note, Damion Jones scored four points in 20 minutes for the Jam. Jones was the last to go when Atlanta trimmed down their final roster to 12 players.

In a post game interview with Rick Hudgens of NBA.com Jenkins said that it felt good to get out and play with Mike Scott and also Kendall Marshall (from Phoenix Suns). He also said that his goal is to get into game shape and adjust to the new amount of minutes that he is playing for Bakersfield to help them win games.

Next for the Bakersfield Jam is the Los Angeles D-fenders and Jenkins, Scott and Jones are expected to see time in that game as well.
