For the second time the Atlanta Hawks went into overtime with the Washington Wizards. They pulled it out again, this time to the tune of 100-95. It took some big shoots from Lou Williams to overcome the big time play of Washington's Jordan Crawford. The Hawks became shorthanded and were forced to use DeShawn Stevenson, who came through with some clutch buckets of his own.  Stevenson was used because Anthony Morrow sat out the game with a sore back, Devin Harris left the game in the second quarter with a foot injury and Ivan Johnson left the game with a cut on his hand that required stitches.

For the Wizards, Jordan Crawford had a big night with 27 points, 11 assists and 11 rebounds. Nene came off of the bench to have 18 points, rookie Bradley Beal scored 17 points and Martell Webster added 11.

Lou Williams led the Hawks with 24 points. Josh Smith scored  17 points with 13 rebounds, five blocks (again!) and three steals (vote J-Smoove for the All-Star game). Kyle Korver went 3-4 from the three point line to help him reach 16 points and seven boards. Jeff Teague added 13 points in the Atlanta win. Al Horford went 2-11 from the floor to score only five points, but still managed to contribute with 11 rebounds and six assists.

The Hawks host Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder in their next contest. OKC will be looking for revenge as the Atlanta Hawks defeated them in the first match this season.
