The Atlanta Hawks lost a game their latest contest to the Philadelphia 76ers to the score of 99-80. The loss is the third in four games for Atlanta and it also snaps the 76ers five game losing streak. Atlanta did not look like the team that we have grown accustom to seeing this season. There was little ball movement which led to bad shots, the intensity was not there on defense and the teams confidence seemed to be missing also. Coach Larry Drew spoke about the team's energy and even threw out the idea of shaking up the lineup in search of a change. Al Horford spoke about moving the ball on offense and stressed the importance of team defense.

The Hawks were down 51-45 at halftime before going down big in the third. With the scoring of Lou Williams, Atlanta cut a 15 point deficit to single digits only to have Philly stretch the lead back out in the fourth quarter. Instead of fighting back, this time Coach Drew sent in the reserves to finish the game.

Evan Turner led the charge for the 76ers with 21 points and six assists. Thaddeus Young scored 18 points, snagged 11 rebounds and made five steals. Jason Richardson dropped in 17 points, seven assists and eight rebounds. Spencer Hawes added 12 points and eight boards and Jrue Holiday had 11 points and seven assists.

Josh Smith was the high point man for Atlanta, he had 17 points and six rebounds. Lou Williams used his 13 points to try to help the Hawks get back into the game and Kyle Korver added 11 points to the Atlanta Hawks total.

The Atlanta Hawks host the Chicago Bulls, who are coming off an emotional win over the New York Knicks, before taking their Christmas vacation.
