It looks like the Atlanta Hawks will be represented in Houston for the NBA All-Star Weekend after all. Jeff Teague will be in the mix for the East to participate in the Skills Challenge. Along with Teague, Detroit's Brandon Knight and Philadelphia's Jrue Holiday will also contend for the Eastern Conference. For the West, San Antonio's Tony Parker, Houston's Jeremy Lin and Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers will compete. The Skills Challenge will be held Saturday, February 16 with the Three Point and Slam Dunk Contest. The All-Star Game will tip off the following evening.
Atlanta's Lou Williams went under the knife to repair the ACL on his right knee that was torn in a game against the Brooklyn Nets. The surgery was done by Dr. James Andrews and he was assisted by Hawks' surgeon Dr. Ashok Reddy at the Andrews Institute for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Gulf Breeze, Florida. Williams will have to spend about three weeks at the Andrews Institute for testing and his total recovery time is estimated from six to nine months. It is this timetable that leaves Hawks fans unsure if Williams will be able to return at the beginning of next season. However long it takes, get well Lou!
