The Atlanta Hawks went to The Palace at Auburn Hills to take on the Detroit Pistons, but the Pistons did not seem to have any interest in playing basketball as Atlanta rolled to a 114-103 win. Al Horford put together his first 20 points, 20 rebounds since 2010 and it seems that there a confidence brewing in him that he can be "The Man" for the Hawks. Atlanta not only got a big game from Al, but all key players joined in on the fun. The win brings Atlanta to three in a row, they have also won five out of their last six games and four of those have come on the road. The win also brings the Hawks series against the Pistons to 2-1 this season.
Rodney Stuckey led Detroit in scoring with 22 points. Also hitting the 20 point mark was Jonas Jerebko, who came off of the bench. Detroit big man Greg Monroe hit the stat sheet with 15 points and eight rebounds. Kyle Singler scored 13 points and Kim English added 10.
Al Horford scored 23 points to go with his 22 rebounds, the man had a double-double at the halftime. Josh Smith also scored 23 points and Jeff Teague joined 20 point club, scoring exactly 20 points. Teague also had 12 assists to go with his scores. Kyle Korver went 5-7 from downtown bringing him to 15 points and Devin Harris added 11 points as a reserve.
The Atlanta Hawks continue their road trip (and hopefully road wins) as they travel to Utah, then to Phoenix, after that they go to Los Angeles to take on the Lakers and they wrap up the trip with a game out in Denver taking on the Nuggets.
